The Latest Reviews

Why trust Freakin Review?

We are a small, independent team based in the US. We buy or borrow the same products you are considering, use them the way you would — in real kitchens, real homes and real weather — and publish what we find, including the parts manufacturers would rather leave out.

Every verdict is written by the editor who ran the tests. Advertisers never see scores in advance, and when we find a long-term problem, we update the review.

Questions, answered

We buy every product at retail and use it the way a normal owner would, usually for two to six weeks. Where a claim can be measured — battery runtime, ice retention, heat-up time, noise levels — we measure it with the same tools for every product and publish the numbers. The full process is on our Review Methodology page.
Rarely. When a manufacturer sends a sample we disclose it in the review, and we test it exactly like a retail unit. No brand sees a verdict before publication or gets to approve the wording.
No. Commission rates are never part of our scoring, and we regularly recommend a cheaper product when it performs better. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains exactly how the links work.
Each product is judged on four weighted criteria: performance (40%), build quality (25%), ease of use (20%) and value for money (15%). The score is a summary — the detail in the review is what matters when you are choosing.
It marks the product we would buy ourselves in that category today: the best overall mix of performance, reliability and price after testing the alternatives.
Every review is revisited at least every six months, and sooner if the price moves sharply or the manufacturer ships a major firmware update. The date at the top of each review shows when it was last checked.
We test every unit we buy individually. For lower-cost products where sample variance is a risk, we buy two or three and report any differences we find.
Prices are taken from major US retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart and Target on the day the review is updated. They change constantly — always check the live price before you buy.
We publish it. Failures appear in the “What could be better” section or the update log, and the verdict points you to a better alternative instead.
Yes — send it through the contact page. We read every suggestion and prioritise the products readers ask about most.
AI helps with research summaries and copy-editing. Testing notes, measurements and verdicts are written and checked by the editor named on the review, and we never publish opinions about products we have not handled.
No. We do not sell sponsored posts, paid rankings or “best of” placements. The only commercial relationship we have is affiliate commission on links, and it never influences a score.
